Admittedly, I love the guy...or rather loved, I should say. And those who have watched him all these years know the incredible toughness that is his make up. But this is football, and I'll bet that any walk through any NFL training room on any given Monday will yield a whole lot of similar, or worse, grotesques. Quite simply, the world of professional (or college) football is a meat grinder. And for all the lauding of Brett's heroics, there are thousands of unsung heroes who have given their service and sacrifice for all of us and don't go through the self aggrandizing he and his supporters do.
