Here is an interesting post about automated blogfinders: http://blackhat-whitehat.com/blackhat/black-hat-technigues/comment-kahuna-vs-comment-hut/
I think we use these kinds of tools to comment on blogs for 2 reasons: to attract human traffic and to get backlinks.
To get backlinks you need “dofollow” blogs. Here is an excellent post with details of a test on commenting on nofollow and dofollow blogs: http://www.fastblogfinder.com/can-nofollow-links-hurt-you/ I love this post because it presents tested facts rather than just opinions.
My problem with CommentHut is that it completely ignores the whole nofollow/dofollow issue. As far as I can see this severely limits its usefullness. Perhaps the new version will address this problem.
Regarding the small number of results returned by CommentKahuna: I would much rather have 9 dofollow links than 147 nofollow links.
The other purpose of commenting is to attract human readers. The best way to find blogs where people will actually READ your comment is a free tool called Comment Sniper which gives you an instant notification when there is a new post on a blog you are watching. This allows you to post your comment at the top, in one of the very first high-visibility positions. http://www.commentsniper.com/
Unless you have interns doing your commenting I think it’s best to focus on quality rather than quantity.
When deciding how to start a blog the first thing for you to decide is what the purpose of your blog is. Are you doing this for your own personal pleasure, to earn some extra cash or to promote a business or idea that you would like to get out to others? Once you have decided this the next step is to look at other blogs of similar topic to get an idea of what others are doing. This may just give you the inspiration you need. When you feel ready to begin the first step is find the right blog provider to host you. There are many to choose from, some of which are free and others which charge only a small fee to use their sites.
Learning how to start a blog is quite easy. Once you have signed up you will see that there are templates you can use to make getting started easy. A simple click on a button and you will have the look you want and then can continue to customize it to suit your desires. You can add many things to your blog from photos, guestbooks to buttons and backgrounds. Make it you because that is what you are after or make it reflect your company and what you are trying to promote. The sites where you pay, even a small fee, do have slightly more to offer in choices when it comes to customizing your blog. Next you need to decide on who you want to be able to access your blog. You can make it private and only have it readable by your friends, coworkers and family or you can have it open to anyone wandering the internet who thinks what you are saying might be of interest to them.
Once you have learned how to start a blog you will be able to begin posting. Do not be offended or feel down if it takes a little time before you get traffic coming to your blog. Visit other blogs and make comments that include your blog address. This will encourage others to come to see what you have to say. It will also persuade those whose blogs you are reading to leave comments about your blog once they have seen it. This will further drive traffic to you.
If you are serious about making a career online, then you will need to look at a number of Internet marketing tools that can help enhance your business. Here are a few examples of tools that may be just what you need.
Just as with a brick and mortar business, it is important to communicate effectively with your clients and potential customers. One tool that will help with this process is an autoresponder. This device will allow your email server to send out acknowledgement emails whenever anyone replies to an ad, asks a question about your product line, or wants to check on the status of an order. Using a device of this type will let all your contacts know the email was received and allow you a pocket of time to respond with something more personal.
Tracking software is another example of essential Internet marketing tools. The software allows you to keep tabs on the number of hits you have on your web site and out to your affiliate partners is also important. By having some idea of the number of hits you receive daily versus the number of completed sales, you can get some idea of how well your marketing efforts are going. Tracking software is built into the platforms for some web hosts, but that is not always the case. If it is not offered, then look into software that will allow you to manage the process.
Last, look into using a blog as part of your business promotion. Internet marketing tools such as web logs are great ways to showcase your products by providing content that has to do with the features, applications, and availability of the goods and services you offer. Blogs can also be configured to allow people to leave comments, which always encourages participation. Make sure to have links to the products and also to your main web site.
Ever wonder how to make money with a blog? There actually are several ways to do this. To begin with you can sell advertising on your blog. This can be done in two ways deepening on what your goal is. If your blog is new then the easiest way to generate ad income is through one of the ad services. They will put a number of ads on your blog, usually no more than twelve, and each time a person comes to your blog and clicks on one of the ads you will receive a small fee. The ads would be themed to your blog so that there is a tie in effect otherwise any ads that are off topic will not even be noticed. If your blog has a lot of traffic you may be able to sell advertisement space yourself and charge a weekly or monthly fee for others to put their ads on your blog.
One of the methods that you can choose from to see how you can make money with a blog is by joining an affiliate program. An example of a good one of these deals with one of the biggest book selling companies on the internet. Simply by mentioning a book they sell, either mentioning it in passing or writing a book review, has the potential to earn you a small fee. The person reading your blog can then click on the name of the book and that takes them directly to the book selling site. This earns you the small fee. But, if they then purchase the book you earn another larger commission on it. Or you can use your blog to promote the work you are doing and try to find new clients or customers depending on whether you offer products or services.
Understanding how to make money with a blog will come in time. You should look at the blogs of others to give yourself some ideas. Sometimes it is as simple as asking for those who read your blog to make a small donation to help cover the costs of keeping the site going. Those who really enjoy your blog may send a little something. Keep your blog interesting if you hope to have success using this form of generating income.
