There are many different types of work online jobs. It is important for a person to understand about the different types of work at home so that they can choose the job that works best for them.

An employee position in the work at home job market is something rare.  There are opportunities, but mostly the work at home jobs are for independent contractors.

Getting a work at home job with a top company has a great pay off. It is worth the time it will take to actually secure the job. Many times these are some of the best work at home jobs out there because they are reliable, pay well and usually offer employee status, which means benefits and other perks.

An self employed person works for no one but themselves. An self employed person simply makes an agreement to work for the company, but is not an exclusive member of the company or otherwise indebted to the company. Usually the work agreement is for a set amount or set time period and the pay is often negotiable. The company does not pay taxes nor do they withhold taxes for the self employed person.

Keeping records is something that most people never consider when they start working at home. This can be a major problem because most work at home positions are as an independent contractor. What this means is that the employer does not with holds taxes and you are responsible for paying them. Record keeping is important because it allows you to keep track of your earnings and of things you can take as deductions on your taxes.

Affiliate work from home opportunities are very popular and they can also be a very profitable and successful choice. Understanding them is important, though, before getting involved with one. One of the first things a person needs to know about affiliate work from home offers is the difference between them and a ponzi scam. The two are very familiar, but there is a key difference.

The difference is that with an affiliate work from home program there are products or services being sold. In a ponzi scam no products or services are sold. The reason these two can be confused is that both involve recruiting others in order to earn income. However, with an affiliate work from home program recruiting is only part of the income. Selling products is another way to earn income and recruiting others is not even mandatory to earning money.

When selling products from home online a work at home job can be considered more of a home based business. home business online are a great tax advantage and can be very rewarding. Not only that but if set up correctly you can also sell your home based business for significant profit.

Affiliate Marketing - Creating Residual Income
Posted by Margaret O'Connor Flanigan at 11:00 am in Online Business, Promotion and Marketing

It has already been established that affiliate marketing is one of the quickest and easiest ways to make money from your own home based business.

The products creator erases the need for research and development. You, as the affiliate, have only to deal with the marketing end. In most cases the merchant will even provide sales material for you.

This is great for fast profits, but what about the long term?

Think about this for a minute. The affiliate does all the work on getting interested prospects to the product sales page through their affiliate link. Hopefully the prospect buys and the affiliate gains the commission.

But what happens after that?

The affiliate must then repeat the process all over again to bring more prospects into their sales pipeline. All for a one off sale and commission.

This can turn into a costly proposition depending on the cost of getting the leads to the sales page and the conversion ratio of said sales page.

With that in mind, what can an affiliate do to increase their return on leads and qualified prospects?

Two things.

First, as an affiliate marketer in any niche you must set up your own lead capture page and build your own list of targeted prospects.

This can be done simply by using an autoresponder to capture names and email addresses that is set up with seven to ten follow up messages extolling the benefits of the product you are promoting.

Give away a free report or a review of the product as an enticement for the prospect to leave their information.

This way you can send endorsements of other related products as well if they don’t like the original product.

Second, find membership sites or services to promote in your particular niche.

This is a truly spectacular way to maximize your advertising by gaining recurring income instead of a one-time sale.

Think about what is happening right now with cell phones. You can purchase a phone with all the bells and whistles - camera, Internet ready, text messaging - the works for very cheap. Heck, you can even find some going in a two for one deal.

So what is the catch?

You have to sign up for two years of service.

That is where they make their cash. The recurring income model.

That is what you, as an affiliate marketer, should be looking to promote.

It has been said that it’s as easy to make $100 a day, as it is to make $5 a day. That’s especially true when you already have money rolling in from previous sales.

By promoting services with a recurring monthly charge, you’ll set yourself up with a nice residual income.

Selecting Keywords for Your Website
Posted by Margaret O'Connor Flanigan at 10:24 am in Uncategorized

Aside from selecting an actual topic for your website, perhaps the most important part of any web design process is to actually create a way for people to find your website. And there is no better way to ensure that your website gets visited than by selecting the proper keywords for your web page. It can be a much more difficult task than you think, but what you will end up with is a flourishing site with the possibility of tens of thousands of visitors each and every day.

The first step to selecting a proper set of keywords for your site is to really sit down and think hard about what your site is about. Ask yourself some questions about your site and which audience you want to find. What is my site selling? What kinds of people would benefit from the information or products I have on my site? Is my niche crowded with similar sites offering similar products?

Once you have an answer to these questions, it’s time for you to start thinking about which keywords you want to focus your site around. Try to aim for keywords that are both specific to your niche and general enough that they will allow your site to place well when people search for something more general. A good mix of those two areas will yield you higher results in search engines.

Here is an example to get you started. Say you are selling unlocked cell phones on your website. Now, there are quite a few other sites out there that are also selling unlocked cell phones, and because your page is new, you need to work twice as hard to make sure that search engines recognize it for what it is. So, think about keywords like: “unlocking, unlocked cell phones, cellular phone, cheap cell phone” as general keywords, then go into more detail with other keywords like: “Sony Ericsson unlocked cell phone, unlocked Apple iPhone, low cost RAZR2 unlocking” and so on.

Things to Remember When Selecting an Affiliate Product
Posted by Margaret O'Connor Flanigan at 10:22 am in Uncategorized

If you have been thinking about selecting an affiliate product to offer for sale via your online business, there are several factors that you should keep in mind. Here are a few examples of points to ponder before committing yourself to any affiliate product or program.

One of the first considerations is the structure of the compensation package associated with the product. It is important to establish that the amount of resources you have to invest in selling the good or service has a good chance of being recovered through the generation of an equitable amount of compensation. Commissions may work very well, depending on the percentage involved. You may also find that a buy rate is a workable situation as well, especially if you have some control over setting the retail price for the item. If in doubt, run a few simulations to see how many sales you will have to generate in order to recoup your investment of time and money in the venture, and how long it will take to actually begin to make a profit.

Along with the compensation, you also want to address the issue of finding the right market for the product. Ideally, you should be able to identify sectors of the consumer market that will be a good fit. However, keep in mind that a product that has a lot of competition may not be a good fit, even if the target audience is fairly large. You may find that selecting an affiliate product that has a small target market, but very little competition in that market, may be a better fit.

Finding the right product or products to market may take some time. Fortunately, there are several excellent affiliate program directories on the Internet, so there is an excellent chance of finding several opportunities that will be a good fit. Take your time in selecting an affiliate product, and you will find that your association with the program will be very rewarding.
